Protometer is a new breed of verification IPs based on AXIOM’s revolutionary CDF technology.  Protometer IPs are available for various standard interfaces falling in networking, PC communication, SoC connectivity and other domains.  Once connected, Protometers will allow users to record protocol functional coverage and transactions into a compact, highly versatile CDF database.  Users can then browse through the transactions or analyze the coverage information through multiple utilities that come with Protometer and improve the productivity of the verification cycles.

Coverage Features

• Comes with standard based coverage goals, which can be modified by users, designed on novel CDF language. 
• Coverage results from multiple runs can be merged to generate comprehensive reports from regressions

Transaction Debugging Features

• Transactions can be browsed using VeTrans graphical interface
• Transactions can be linked to AXIOM Designer signal transition database and signals corresponding to transactions can be brought up automatically
• Transactions can be sorted, searched and analyzed based on signatures in header, footer or payload of the transaction
• Command line VTQuery utility can be used to develop complex scripts to analyze the transaction database and generate various reports

The novel, extremely efficient architecture of Protometers ensure that the users have almost zero setup time to enhance their verification environment.  Non-HVL testbenches too can produce functional coverage data and hence provide metrics for verification closure.  The run-time overhead of Protometers is negligible and the post processing time even for merging and reporting coverage from thousands of tests is just few minutes.
